Briefly: as of 30 September 2026, the SpinHire index holds 7 539 open iGaming roles from 482 companies. Since 2 September, the live snapshot has grown by 34.5%. “Casino operations” added the most (+1 243 openings), and player support almost tripled. The remote share fell from 41.8% to 23.3%, and salaries are still shown in only 8% of listings.
This is the first issue of Hiring Pulse, a monthly snapshot of iGaming hiring. It comes out during SBC Summit in Lisbon (29 September – 1 October 2026), when half the industry is talking hiring at the booths. The snapshot was taken on 30 September 2026: all figures below come from the public SpinHire index APIs on that day. The permanent monthly page with live charts is spinhire.io/market/2026-09.
September's five key numbers
| Metric | August | September | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open roles during the month | 3 892 | 7 575 | +94,6% |
| New roles during the month | 4 505 | 7 132 | +58,3% |
| Companies with open jobs | 324 | 502 | +54,9% |
| Share of listings with salary | 7% | 8% | +1 pp |
| Live snapshot, 2 → 30 September | 5 601 | 7 534 | +34,5% |
Monthly figures and the daily series are calculated differently. “Open during the month” counts every role that was live at least once during the month, which is why 7 575 is higher than the 7 539 in the 30 September snapshot. The live snapshot is how many roles are open on a given day. September's low point was 11 September, with 5 557 roles; from there the series climbed with almost no pullbacks and ended the month at its peak.
The flow of new listings is uneven. In the week to 20 September, 1 597 new roles entered the index, the month's peak; in the week to 24 September, 573, the low. Employers open roles in waves ahead of big conferences, and September shows it.
Functions: casino grows, development shrinks
Below are the index's ten functions, live snapshot on 2 and 30 September.
| Field | 2 Sep | 30 Sep | Change | Share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Casino operations | 1 681 | 2 924 | +73,9% | 38,8% |
| Game development | 1 438 | 1 071 | −25,5% | 14,2% |
| Marketing & CRM | 582 | 756 | +29,9% | 10,0% |
| Executive | 442 | 608 | +37,6% | 8,1% |
| Player support | 161 | 465 | +188,8% | 6,2% |
| Affiliates & media buying | 299 | 433 | +44,8% | 5,7% |
| Finance, legal & HR | 285 | 400 | +40,4% | 5,3% |
| Compliance & AML | 338 | 288 | −14,8% | 3,8% |
| Data & BI | 188 | 278 | +47,9% | 3,7% |
| Payments & antifraud | 110 | 168 | +52,7% | 2,2% |
“Casino operations” now accounts for almost four in ten roles. These are VIP, retention, risk and product roles around live casino and slots. Player support grew the most in percentage terms: from 161 to 465 roles. At the profession level it's even clearer: support agent is the most common role in the index, with 460 openings and a SpinHire salary benchmark of €2 100–2 800 a month.
Two functions shrank. “Game development” lost 367 roles and compliance 50. Meanwhile platform backend developer remains the second-largest profession by number of openings (420, benchmark €4 000–5 500), and BI analysts and data engineers together hold 450 roles. Developers haven't stopped being hired; the rest of the industry is just hiring faster.
Countries: the UK and the US overtake Malta
| Location | 2 Sep | 30 Sep | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remote (no country) | 2 072 | 1 325 | −36,1% |
| Country not specified | 661 | 1 102 | +66,7% |
| United Kingdom | 252 | 731 | +190,1% |
| USA | 264 | 673 | +154,9% |
| Malta | 326 | 573 | +75,8% |
| Bulgaria | 146 | 266 | +82,2% |
| Poland | 111 | 235 | +111,7% |
| Greece | 168 | 194 | +15,5% |
| Ukraine | 100 | 176 | +76,0% |
| South Africa | 70 | 168 | +140,0% |
| Cyprus | 69 | 146 | +111,6% |
At the start of September, Malta was the index's top country; by the end of the month it had been overtaken by the UK (731) and the US (673). By month-end, Germany had entered the top dozen locations with 149 roles. Bulgaria and Poland doubled and hold at 235–266 roles, and Cyprus also doubled.
The most notable shift is work format. On 2 September, 2 344 of 5 601 roles were remote (41.8%); on 30 September, 1 754 of 7 534 (23.3%). Office roles grew from 3 146 to 5 581 over the same period and make up 74.1% of the snapshot, with 198 hybrid roles. Partly this is a composition effect: the index is adding new sources, and large operators tend to hire on-site. But for candidates the takeaway is the same: three out of four roles expect you in a specific city.
Languages: English is required in 6 879 roles (91.2%). Russian-language roles rose to 519 from 350 (+48.3%), while Ukrainian ones fell to 213 from 349. German (219) and Spanish (195) nearly doubled over the month.
Who hired the most
| Company | Open roles as of 30 September |
|---|---|
| Aristocrat | 325 |
| Evolution | 286 |
| Entain | 285 |
| Playtech | 281 |
| Betsson Group | 209 |
| Sportradar | 188 |
| FanDuel | 174 |
The seven largest employers together hold 1 748 open roles, 23.2% of the entire snapshot. The top four are almost neck and neck: just 44 roles separate Aristocrat and Playtech. Another 271 listings in the index were posted without a company name, as the employer preferred to stay anonymous. A detailed ranking with trends for each company is in the employer index.
What to talk about at SBC
- Operations and support are in highest demand. 2 924 roles in “Casino operations” and 465 in player support. If you work in operations, you'll have more people to talk to at the show than anyone else.
- Remote is now the minority. 23.3% of roles versus 41.8% at the start of the month. Come to the booth with a ready answer on relocation: which city you'd move to, from which month, and whether you need a package.
- You'll have to ask about the salary range yourself. Only 632 of 7 539 roles show a salary, 8.4%. A conversation at the booth is the best moment to find out the range before the first interview. More on who publishes numbers in our breakdown “Only 9% of job listings state a salary”.
Pay benchmarks for any role are in the directory of professions and in the salary calculator.
Methodology and data
The source is SpinHire's own job index. Roles that disappear at the source are archived and excluded from the live snapshot. The snapshot for this issue was taken on 30 September 2026: 7 539 open roles, 482 companies, 632 roles with a salary.
- Where the numbers come from. Monthly metrics and the daily series since 2 September: market-history; breakdown by function, country, format, language and profession: market-stats; largest employers: top-companies.
- Within-month comparison. The function, country and format tables compare the daily data points for 2 and 30 September. The changes reflect both hiring and the index's expansion: new sources were added in September, so growth means growth in the visible part of the market, not the market as a whole.
- Number of companies. The daily company series within September isn't comparable (8 September: 1 167; 9 September: 546), so we report company trends only month by month.
- Profession salaries. Profession ranges are SpinHire's estimate for the role, not an average across listings.
