Briefly: as of September 12, 2026 the SpinHire index holds 5 620 open vacancies from 399 companies. The twenty largest employers account for 2 752 of them — 49% of the whole market. First place goes to Evolution: 289 vacancies, 5.1% of the industry. Eight of the top 20 are providers and vendors, nine are operators. And almost none of them offer remote work.

Everyone says iGaming is “hiring a lot”, but nobody says who exactly. We took a snapshot of our own vacancy index as of September 12, 2026 and counted how many open positions each company has. This is the first issue of a monthly series: in October we’ll compare the same figures and see who grew and who froze hiring.

The overall picture on the day of the snapshot: 5 620 open vacancies, 399 companies, 831 vacancy appeared in the past week. In 213 listings the employer isn’t named — this is direct hiring via Telegram and closed channels, and they aren’t included in the company ranking. The remaining 5 407 vacancies are spread across 397 employers.

Market share is calculated against all 5 620 vacancies in the index. “Main country” and “main category” are the most frequent location and category among that company’s vacancies on the day of the snapshot.

Two rows in this table aren’t employers but recruitment agencies: BettingJobs and VanKaizen they publish clients’ vacancies, not their own. Together that’s 192 positions. We keep them in the ranking because for a job seeker they are real entry points, but they can’t be counted as “companies that are hiring”.

Who these five are

Evolution (289 vacancies) — the world’s largest live casino provider: studios with real dealers that operators embed on their own sites. Hence a geography with no single centre: the USA (41), Colombia (27), Argentina (26), Malta (21), Georgia (17). Three categories are almost equal — game development (81), player support (77) and casino operations (77).

Playtech (219) — a veteran of B2B platforms with an office in London. Its main hiring hub is Sofia (Bulgaria, 52 vacancies), followed by Ukraine (39) and Estonia (26). A notable share is compliance: 37 positions, more than anyone else in the top five.

Aristocrat (216) — a Las Vegas maker of slot machines and gaming systems. The most “operational” company in the top 5: 136 of its 216 vacancies are in casino operations. It hires in the USA (56), India (44) and Poland (28).

Bet365 (212) — a British betting operator, and the structure shows it straight away: 110 vacancies in the UK and 95 positions in development. Plus 34 vacancies in compliance — the price of working in heavily regulated markets.

Betsson Group (175) — a Maltese operator: 93 vacancies in Malta itself, 79 of them in development. If you’re aiming to relocate, this is the most direct route — details in our breakdown of working in Malta.

Providers versus operators

Let’s split the top 20 by business model. Providers, vendors and infrastructure (Evolution, Playtech, Aristocrat, SOFTSWISS, Sportradar, Genius Sports, Light & Wonder, Pragmatic Play) account for 8 companies and 1 317 vacancies. Operators, that is, companies with their own players (Bet365, Betsson, Kaizen Gaming, FanDuel, Entain, Tipico, Superbet, DraftKings, Sporty Group) — 9 companies and 1 162 vacancies.

The gap is small, but it breaks the familiar picture of “iGaming = casinos”. Half of the industry’s large-scale hiring is B2B: software, data, studios, payments. For a candidate from IT this matters more than it seems: in B2B you don’t need to love gambling, you need to be able to build high-load systems. We covered this using the example of a platform backend developer with a range of €4 000–5 500.

How concentrated the market is

  • Top 5 — 1 111 vacancies, 19.8% of the market.
  • Top 10 — 1 811 vacancies, 32.2% of the market.
  • Top 20 — 2 752 vacancies, 49.0% of the market.
  • Companies with 100+ open vacancies: only 15 out of 397.

On the other side is the long tail: 157 companies have exactly one open vacancy, and 284 employers (more than two thirds of all) have five or fewer. Together they account for 541 positions, fewer than two Evolutions. The market is shaped like a dumbbell: a couple of dozen giants and three hundred studios, startups and small operators.

What this means for your job search: half of the vacancies can be covered by going through twenty careers pages. The other half can’t — and that’s exactly where there’s less competition per opening. The full list of open positions is in the jobs section.

Big companies hardly offer remote work

The most unexpected figure in the snapshot. Across the market as a whole, remote vacancies number 1 320 of 5 620 — 23.5%. Within the top 20, remote work is offered in only 318 of 2 752 — 11.6%, half as often.

The reason is who sits at the top of the table: Evolution, Bet365, Betsson, Kaizen Gaming, Entain, Tipico — all six have zero or almost zero remote positions. Licensing requirements, studios with physical equipment, office hubs in Malta and Sofia. Remote work in the top 20 comes from others: SOFTSWISS (89 vacancies), RedCore (68), Sporty Group (41), DraftKings (35). If remote is non-negotiable for you, don’t look at the ranking of giants but at our selection of remote roles.

Almost nobody states a salary

Across the whole index, 514 of 5 620 vacancies publish a salary range in the listing — 9%. The top 20 are no better: 232 of 2 752, or 8.4%. And the distribution is patchy: FanDuel states a range in 57 of 139 vacancies, Aristocrat in 60 of 216, Bet365 in 47 of 212, while Betsson, SOFTSWISS, Kaizen Gaming and Sportradar didn’t state a single one. You have to rely on market ranges — they’re collected in directory of professions.

Methodology and data

The source is SpinHire’s own vacancy index. We aggregate open positions at iGaming companies from their careers pages and ATSs (Greenhouse, Workday, Teamtailor, Lever). Vacancies that disappear at the source are archived and excluded from the count.

The snapshot was taken September 12, 2026 by paging through the public API /api/jobs (113 pages of 50 records, 5 620 unique vacancies), plus the summary /api/market-stats. Two normalisations, both visible in the data: rows with the same company profile are merged (so “bet365” and “Bet365” give 212 vacancies — exactly what the company card shows), and two profiles of the same group — Kaizen Gaming and Betano — are combined into 152 vacancies, because this is one employer with one ATS. 213 vacancies without a company name are excluded from the ranking but counted in the total market volume.

The data is open under the licence CC BY 4.0: take it, analyse it, publish it with a link. Live figures are on the page spinhire.io/market, a machine-readable snapshot — spinhire.io/market.csv.

In October we’ll repeat the same measurement and compare: who ramped up hiring, who went into a freeze and how many companies entered the top 20 for the first time.
