Sales Development Representative in iGaming — Finds potential clients for the sales team: builds lists, reaches out first on LinkedIn and email, qualifies leads and passes warm ones to sales.

What the role involves

An SDR works at the top of the funnel. Every day they build lists of operators, affiliates or merchants matching the ideal customer profile, find decision-makers' contacts, write first messages and follow-ups, book a call and hand the lead to the manager who will close the deal. A good SDR writes short and personal: mentions the operator's new licence, its launch in Brazil or its recent stand at SiGMA. They filter out those who won't pay or don't fit the geo, and over a month fill the salesperson's calendar with dozens of qualified meetings. The role is often the first step into iGaming sales.

  • Find decision-makers' contacts via LinkedIn, databases and scrapers
  • Cold outreach by email, LinkedIn and Telegram
  • Set up and run email sequences and follow-ups
  • Qualify leads and book meetings for sales

How to break into the profession

One of the most accessible entry-level sales roles: you're hired after 6–12 months of lead generation in any B2B niche, or from support with good English.

Working hours: Mon–Fri, mostly remote. Working hours are adjusted to the market's time zone.

Market demand: SDRs are hired by platforms, PSPs, sports data providers, influencer traffic agencies and SaaS for affiliates. International companies need SDRs with local languages.

FAQ

How is an SDR different from a sales manager?

An SDR finds the lead and takes it to the first meeting. From there the presentation, negotiation and signing are handled by the sales manager or BDM.

How do I become an SDR in iGaming without experience?

Brush up your English, learn Sales Navigator and Apollo, and bring an example of your own cold email to the interview. Lead generation experience in a related B2B niche counts.
