What the role involves
iGaming teams grow in spurts: in six months a 20-person arbitrage team becomes a department of 80, and a holding opens an office in Belgrade or Limassol from scratch. An HR manager in this environment builds onboarding, performance reviews and a motivation system, deals with buyer burnout after losing months and holds on to strong team leads that competitors try to poach. A generalist at a studio or office also handles employment paperwork, holidays and relocation; an HRBP sits next to the heads of departments; an HRD owns HR strategy, structure and metrics such as turnover and eNPS. HR often covers part of the hiring too.

How to break into the profession
From recruitment, HR in IT and digital, or office management in a growing team. For HRBP and Head of HR employers expect 3–10 years of experience and cases of scaling teams.
Working hours: Mon–Fri, many remote positions. A generalist at an office or live studio works on site; HRBPs and HRDs are often hybrid with trips to offices.
Market demand: Hiring comes from international holdings in Cyprus, Malta and LatAm, live studios opening new offices, and arbitrage teams that have grown past 50 people. Demand is growing for HRBPs who understand affiliate business metrics, not just HR admin.
