Finance Manager (iGaming) — Runs the money of a gambling project or arbitrage team: traffic spend, partner reconciliations, crypto payouts, salaries and P&L.

What the role involves

A finance person in traffic arbitrage lives in spreadsheets and crypto wallets. In the morning they pay for buyers' ad account top-ups and accounts via Bybit or USDT, in the afternoon they reconcile with advertisers and brands how many FTDs were counted, and at month-end they calculate each buyer's profit and salaries with commission. A Billing Manager in a traffic team issues CPA and RevShare invoices and chases partners for overdue payments. At an operator or provider the focus shifts to reconciliations with payment providers and game providers, the budget and management P&L. One wrong formula here means overpaying a buyer or missing a cash gap.

Responsibilities

  • Track income and expenses, control spend on traffic, accounts and hardware
  • Weekly and monthly reconciliations with advertisers, brands and affiliate programmes
  • Issue CPA, CPL and RevShare invoices and track incoming payments
  • Make payouts in crypto and fiat: to partners, contractors and staff
  • Calculate salaries and buyers' profit-based commission
  • Maintain the P&L and report ROI and margin by line of business to the owner
  • Forecast cash flow and flag cash gaps in advance

How performance is measured

  • Accuracy and timeliness of partner reconciliations
  • Receivables and overdue partner payments
  • Payouts and salaries made on time
  • P&L and management reporting deadlines

Skills required

Professional skills

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets: pivots, formulas, VLOOKUP, automation
  • Management accounting, P&L, cash flow
  • Crypto payments: exchanges, USDT, wallets, payment gateways
  • Understanding of CPA, RevShare and hybrid models and traffic metrics
  • Accounting basics and multi-currency settlements

Soft skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Chasing payments politely but persistently
  • Confidentiality

How to break into the profession

From accounting, financial analysis, banks and fintech. Arbitrage teams hire with little experience if the candidate is confident in Excel and understands crypto.

Working hours: Mon–Fri, usually 10:00–18:00 or 11:00–19:00. Lots of remote work; some teams keep the finance person in an office in Kyiv, Warsaw or Limassol.

Market demand: Hiring comes from media buying and arbitrage teams, affiliate networks in crypto and gambling, and operators and providers with entities in Malta and Cyprus. The most common request: a finance person who understands traffic and can work with crypto.

Frequently asked questions

How is a finance manager different from an accountant?

An accountant keeps the entity's statutory books and files reports under the country's law. A finance manager handles management money: spend, reconciliations, payouts, P&L and forecasts for the owner.

How much does a finance person earn in an arbitrage team?

$900–1,400 at the start, around $1,600–2,400 with reconciliation and P&L experience. Heads of Finance and CFOs who understand traffic reach $4,500–8,000 and up.

Do I need to understand crypto?

In arbitrage, almost always yes: accounts and partner payouts are paid in USDT through exchanges and wallets. Licensed operators use less crypto and more banks and payment systems.
