Frontend Developer, Malta & Cyprus, middle: €3 500–4 800 per month gross · SpinHire data as of
What the role involves
Frontend in iGaming works on the interface that money flows through. A lobby with thousands of games has to open fast even on a weak phone, live odds update over WebSocket every second, and the cashier and bonuses have to render without errors in a dozen languages and currencies. At operators and platforms it's mostly React or Angular with SSR for SEO. At slot providers the work is closer to game development: TypeScript, PixiJS, Spine animations. Arbitrage teams build landing pages, pre-landers and white pages for offers.

Bonuses: Usually a straight salary. Product companies sometimes pay an annual bonus, and arbitrage teams occasionally pay extra for the volume of landing pages built.
How to break into the profession
From regular web development: React or Angular experience transfers fully, and iGaming specifics take a couple of months to learn. In arbitrage you can start by building landing pages and pre-landers.
Working hours: Mon–Fri, mostly remote or hybrid. On-call is rare, mainly at betting platforms during major events.
Market demand: Hiring comes from operators with their own platform (Betsson, Sporty Group, Bet365), B2B platforms, slot and live game providers, and arbitrage teams for landing pages. Most remote roles are for React and TypeScript.
