Email Marketing Specialist in iGaming — Makes sure a casino's emails land in the inbox: sets up domains and IPs, warms up sending, builds flows and tests emails.

What the role involves

In gambling a bonus email easily ends up in spam: the domain is new, the topic is risky, complaints are high. The email marketer owns the whole channel and above all deliverability: sets up SPF, DKIM and DMARC, warms up new domains and IPs, watches reputation in Postmaster Tools and cleans dead addresses out of the list. On top of that they build automated flows (welcome, reactivation, bonus reminders), code and test emails, and deal with blacklists and abuse complaints. Unlike a CRM manager, who decides which offer goes to which player segment across all channels, the email marketer is responsible for making the email channel itself work and bring in opens and clicks.

Responsibilities

  • Set up email infrastructure: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, dedicated IPs and domains
  • Domain and IP warm-up strategy, deliverability control
  • Monitor reputation and blacklists, handle abuse complaints
  • Build and automate flows, segment the list, run A/B tests
  • Code and test emails across email clients
  • Report on open rate, CTR, bounce rate and spam complaints

How performance is measured

  • Inbox placement and deliverability
  • Open rate and CTRclick-through rate: share of viewers who clicked
  • Bounce rate and spam complaint rate
  • Deposits and reactivations from the email channelhow many dormant players were brought back into play

Skills required

Professional skills

  • DNS setup for email, SMTP and MTAs
  • Domain and IP warm-up, sender reputation management
  • Flow automation and segmentation
  • HTML/CSS email coding
  • List hygiene and blacklist handling

Soft skills

  • Being organised and detail-oriented
  • Patience through long warm-ups
  • Explaining the technical side to marketing

Tools

PowerMTA, MailWizzGoogle Postmaster Tools, MXToolbox, TalosCustomer.io, Mailchimp or SmarticoLitmus, Email on Acid

Languages: For the technical side, documentation-level English is enough. Emails for a market need the geo's language or close work with translators.

FAQ

How is an email marketer different from a CRM manager?

A CRM manager builds all communication with players: segments, bonus mechanics, push, SMS, email, calls. An email marketer goes deep on one channel: infrastructure, deliverability, flows and email coding.

Why do casino emails go to spam?

Because of new domains, a risky topic, a dirty list and complaints. The fix is correct DNS records, gradual warm-up, list cleaning and reputation monitoring.
