Team Lead Media Buying in iGaming — Leads a team of 4–10 media buyers: hands out setups and budgets, reviews each buyer's stats and keeps running campaigns personally.

What the role involves

A team lead in an arbitrage team is almost always a player-coach: in the morning they review yesterday's spend and ROI for each buyer, in the afternoon they test a new setup on Facebook or Google UAC themselves, and in the evening they decide who gets more budget and who comes off a geo. They own the team's overall profit rather than their own campaigns, so a lot of time goes on reviewing other people's mistakes, sharing working approaches and dealing with the farming team, tech specialists and creative designers. Teams work on CPA or Spend models with direct advertisers, budgets run to thousands of dollars a day, and at interview you're almost always asked for fresh Keitaro stats.

  • Allocate budgets, tests and geos between buyers
  • Run your own campaigns and find new profitable setups
  • Daily review of spend, ROI and FTDs for each buyer
  • Coordinate with the farming team, tech specialists and creative designers
  • Build scaling processes and manage ban risk

Grown from strong media buyers: you usually need 2+ years of running your own gambling campaigns and experience mentoring at least a couple of juniors.

Working hours: Almost always remote, Mon–Fri with a flexible start. Office roles exist in Prague, Kyiv, Tbilisi and Cyprus, often with relocation.

Market demand: Hiring comes from arbitrage teams running gambling on Facebook and Google UAC, and from operators' in-house acquisition departments. Demand is highest for leads with current profitable Tier-1 setups.

Frequently asked questions

How is a team lead different from a senior media buyer?

A senior owns their own campaigns; a team lead owns the whole team's profit: splits budgets, trains buyers and decides which setups to scale. They usually keep running their own campaigns too.

How much does a media buying team lead earn?

Remote, the fixed part is usually $1,500–3,000, plus 5–10% of the team's profit. Strong leads take home noticeably more than the base.

Do I need my own team to get an offer?

Not necessarily, but candidates with their own team and working setups are valued more. More often employers check fresh campaign stats for the last 2–3 months.
