Who hires in Ukraine
There are three kinds of employers. International suppliers with large R&D teams, led by Playtech. Licensed Ukrainian operators such as FAVBET, Cosmolot and Vbet Ukraine. And affiliate teams and agencies that buy traffic for casino and sports betting brands.
Affiliate teams are usually small and focus on markets abroad, including Latin America and Europe. A noticeable share of hiring also goes through recruitment agencies, so some listings come from firms hiring on behalf of their clients.
For candidates this means a wide range of set-ups, from a product company with a clear career ladder to a small team paid on profit. Decide early which model suits you.
Media buying and affiliate roles
The most common role is a gambling media buyer, usually working with Facebook. Employers expect experience launching and scaling campaigns, using trackers and anti-detect browsers, and understanding how affiliate deals are paid.
Teams also hire SEO specialists, creative designers, copywriters, SMM and CRM managers. Case studies carry the most weight: which geos you ran, how you measured return on spend, and what you did when campaigns stopped converting.
Engineering, product and business roles
Engineering hiring covers Java, frontend, QA and security, mostly at suppliers and larger operators. Product managers are needed for casino products and content management systems, project managers for launching new verticals and markets.
There is steady demand for gambling-law counsel, financial monitoring specialists, accountants and chat support operators. For legal and financial monitoring roles, hands-on experience with local regulation is a strong advantage.
Product companies in Ukraine tend to run engineering to international standards: code review, testing, metric-driven decisions. That experience carries over well to employers abroad.
Remote work, office and languages
Remote work is far more common in Ukraine than in most European markets, since many affiliate teams and product companies are distributed. Operators and large suppliers more often offer hybrid work with an office.
Ukrainian is required for local operators and player support. In international teams the working language is English, and its level often separates mid-level from senior candidates. Listings appear in both Ukrainian and English.
Where to start and what to check
Newcomers usually enter through player support or junior roles in SMM, copywriting or analytics. Some teams take media buying trainees, but most expect at least some traffic arbitrage experience in any vertical.
Check how pay is structured: fixed salary, a share of profit, or a mix. Ask who funds the ad budget and tools, and which markets the team targets, before you move to a test task.
Also ask how the company handles flexible hours and working from different cities or countries. For many teams this is a practical question, and a clear answer early saves time on both sides.
