Who gets relocation offers
Player support and live studios lead the way: Evolution, Betano and others hire native speakers of less common languages and move them to the office. The second large group is developers, game mathematicians, product roles and senior management.
Employers such as Tipico and Kaizen Gaming offer relocation when the right person is not available locally. Your chances improve if you bring a rare combination, like a language plus a profession, or narrow expertise.
How to read a relocation promise
Relocation package, relocation assistance and visa sponsorship mean different things. A package may cover travel and temporary housing, or only help with paperwork. Visa sponsorship matters only if you need a work permit.
If the ad says EU citizens only or right to work required, the company will not sponsor a visa. Spotting that line before you apply saves time compared with discovering it at the final interview.
Read the location line too. If a specific city and office are named and relocation is mentioned separately, the offer is real. If remote is one of the listed locations, you may not need to move at all.
Questions to ask the employer
Ask exactly what the package includes: flights, temporary housing, shipping, help with registration, a tax number and a bank account. Check separately whether support extends to a partner and children.
Find out whether relocation costs must be repaid if you leave early, and on what terms. Ask for the package to be described in the written offer, not only in messages with the recruiter.
Also ask about tax residency and health insurance for the first months. These questions are easier to settle before the move than after you arrive.
Popular iGaming hubs
Malta is the industry's traditional centre, with many licensed operators and an English-speaking workplace. Cyprus, especially Limassol, hosts a large number of operators, payment teams and marketing teams.
Companies often keep development and operations centres in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Armenia. Germany, Spain and the UK attract people with regulated markets, but roles there more often require the local language.
When choosing a hub, look beyond the single job at the market around it. A city with many industry employers makes it easier to change jobs later without moving again.
How to avoid mistakes
Check the company: licences, a real office and employee reviews. Never pay an intermediary for visa processing or a job guarantee, because a legitimate employer does not pass those costs to candidates.
Compare the offer with a remote version of the same role. Moving can be worth it for career and network, but sometimes working from home is simpler. Decide with the full cost of living in the new city in mind.
Think about adjustment as well: a new language, climate and work culture. Some companies help through buddy programmes and employee communities, so it is worth asking about that.
