Why Latin America is hiring
Latin America is one of the most visible growth regions for sports betting and online casino. Brazil has recently opened a regulated market, Colombia licensed online gaming before its neighbours, and international companies are building local offices and teams.
Employers include live casino and game suppliers such as Evolution, Playtech and Pragmatic Play, sportsbook operators such as Betano, plus sports data and payment companies. Brazil and Colombia lead, followed by Argentina, Mexico and Peru.
For candidates this means many teams are still forming: you can join early and grow with the office. Processes in new teams can be rough at first, so it helps to expect that.
Roles in demand
Most hiring is operational: account and VIP managers, customer support, workforce planning and real-time intraday coordination. Companies also recruit pre-event traders, BI analysts, CRM specialists and gaming compliance analysts.
Engineering roles appear too, including database engineers, service desk and software development. At the senior end there are commercial directors, country leads and tax specialists. Students can find internship programmes, often listed as practicante roles.
Listings include programmes for people with disabilities and roles that require no gambling background. Employers readily hire from call centres, banks and service companies when language skills are strong.
Languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English
Brazil almost always requires Portuguese; the rest of the region expects Spanish. Most international employers also ask for English, and for support roles serving English-speaking markets it becomes the main hiring criterion.
Speaking two regional languages plus English is a strong case for regional roles in account management, business development or cross-office coordination. State each language level honestly, because it will be tested in interviews.
Regulation in the region is changing fast and differs from country to country. That keeps compliance, legal and tax specialists in demand, since employers want people who understand local rules from the inside.
Office-based work and shifts
Jobs in the region are almost always tied to an office or hybrid set-up in a specific city, and fully remote openings are very rare. Check the location: São Paulo, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Lima and Montevideo differ a lot in living costs.
Operational roles often run on shifts, including evenings and weekends when major sports events take place. Ask about the schedule, night shift pay and whether moving to a day team later is possible.
How to apply and stand out
An English CV works for international companies, but a Portuguese or Spanish version helps for local roles. Highlight customer-facing experience, comfort with metrics and knowledge of the local betting and sports scene.
Traders and analysts benefit from a solid grasp of football and regional leagues; compliance candidates from familiarity with the new regulatory rules. Ask whether the team covers one country or the whole region.
