Backend Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript / Go) - API Integrations

We are looking for a skilled Backend & Integration Engineer to join our engineering team and support our CTO in implementing, scaling, and maintaining real-time video and data feed integrations with external B2B partners and platforms.
In this role, you will be responsible for connecting our Live Casino studio feeds to partner platforms using real-time data protocols (SSE, REST APIs) and managing ultra-low latency live video streams (RTMP, SRT, HLS).
Key Responsibilities
API & Data Feed Integration: Implement and maintain reliable client-side integrations with partner APIs via Server-Sent Events (SSE) and RESTful services.
Stream & State Management: Build resilient, idempotent state-handling mechanisms (de-duplication of events, recovery after disconnects, handling complex game lifecycle events like card rescans, cancellations, and shoe changes).
Video Ingest & Streaming: Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize live video streams via RTMP / SRT protocols to ensure low latency and high quality (H.264, 1080p@50fps, AAC/Opus).
Security & Infrastructure: Set up and manage secure connection channels, including mTLS (Mutual TLS) with client certificates, Bearer token authentication, and IP whitelisting.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Validate integrations against partner synthetic test environments and oversee seamless go-live transitions.

Requirements & Qualifications

1+ years of experience in Backend Development using Node.js (TypeScript), Go (Golang), or Python.
Strong understanding of Real-time Protocols: Server-Sent Events (SSE), WebSockets, and REST APIs.
Solid experience with Network Security: SSL/TLS, mTLS (Mutual TLS), x509 certificates, Bearer tokens, and IP allowlisting.
Hands-on experience with Live Video Streaming Protocols: RTMP, SRT, HLS, and tools/encoders like FFmpeg, GStreamer, or OBS.
Deep knowledge of relational or key-value databases (Redis, PostgreSQL) for state retention, caching, and event de-duplication.
Familiarity with video encoding standards (H.264, keyframe intervals, bitrate optimization, audio codecs like AAC/Opus).
Experience writing production-grade, fault-tolerant code with automated reconnect mechanisms (exponential backoff, heartbeat watchdogs).
Good written English for technical communication in partner chats and reading API documentation.

Nice to Have

Prior experience in the iGaming / Live Casino / Betting domain.
Experience with media servers (SRS, Nimble Streamer, Node Media Server, or Wowza).
Understanding of WebRTC or ultra-low latency streaming technologies.
