Scala/Java Developer

BettingJobs is partnering with a fast-moving iGaming platform provider to find a Scala / Java Developer for its Malta-based team. This is a chance to join a lean, ambitious B2B business at an exciting stage of growth, working on a data platform product that sits at the heart of its offering to operators.
You'll design, build and evolve the data platform product, working closely with a small team of engineers where your contribution is visible from day one. With no layers of bureaucracy, you'll have real ownership over technical decisions and the opportunity to shape how the product scales. It would suit a hands-on developer who enjoys variety, thrives in a start-up environment and wants to grow alongside the business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services for the data platform in Scala and Java
• Design scalable, reliable data pipelines and processing components
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions as the product grows
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering colleagues to deliver new features
• Troubleshoot, optimise and improve platform performance

Requirements:

• Strong commercial experience with Scala and/or Java
• Experience building backend or data-focused systems
• Understanding of distributed systems and data processing
• Comfortable working in a small team with a high degree of autonomy
• iGaming or B2B platform experience is a plus
• Only accepting candidates based in Malta.
