About the role

We are looking for a Product Owner to take ownership of the Players domain within our GamMatrix platform — the systems that govern how a player is registered, authenticated, consented, classified and protected across every operator on our platform. This is a backend platform product role, not a front-end or marketing role. The person in this seat owns functionality that is regulatory-critical and consumed by dozens of operators and internal products (MoneyMatrix, DataMatrix, CasinoEngine, PIMS). Requirements must be precise, edge cases must be thought through, and compliance implications must be understood before development starts.
You will work inside an established delivery structure: a quarterly commitment cycle and two-week sprints, alongside a Tech Lead, developers and QAs, with Product Management, PMO, Integration Management and Account Management as your main stakeholders.

What You'll get to do:

Product and requirements ownership

  • Own the vision, backlog and prioritisation for the Players domain, and be accountable for the business value delivered by the team.
  • Translate business and regulatory requests into structured requirements: BRDs, user flows, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation clear enough that the team can build without ambiguity.
  • Run discovery and business analysis continuously — with operators, Account Management, Compliance and dependent product teams — rather than as a one-off phase.
  • Understand and document ownership boundaries and integration dependencies between the Players domain and Wallets, KYC/AML, payments, reporting and game management.
  • Quarterly (macro) cycle T-shirting: review and size incoming work within the 10-business-day SLA, clarifying gaps and coordinating with technical stakeholders.
  • Q Planning: bring only viable, unblocked, functionally understood and sized items forward; assess likely spillover from the current quarter; confirm the final quarterly commitment.
  • Q Start: convert each committed item into a properly configured, traceable local EPIC (linked planning item, correct fix version, labels, preserved sizing) and set up the backlog and dashboards for tracking.
  • Q Review: give an accurate, unvarnished view of progress at the midpoint, flag risks and dependencies early, and propose scope adjustments that protect the highest-value outcomes.
  • Q Big Demo: represent the team company-wide — prepare and present what was delivered, why it matters commercially, and the metrics that support it.

Sprint (micro) cycle

  • Bring a prioritized, Definition-of-Ready-compliant list of work into Sprint Planning: requirements validated with the team, no blockers, dependencies resolved, dev and QA estimates in place.
  • Prepare and lead refinement sessions (typically twice per sprint) and maintain a rolling buffer of at least two sprints of refined, ready work.
  • Stay close to delivery in daily standups, unblock and clarify quickly, and take deep discussions offline.
  • Support release readiness, validation and post-release verification and participate in production investigations and incident follow-ups for the domain.
  • Scope and stakeholder management Handle stakeholder communication directly, including operator-facing and cross-BU discussions.
  • Manage in-quarter scope changes by offsetting new work against existing commitments of similar effort, keeping capacity balanced and delivery stable.
  • Escalate blockers with proposed options and trade-offs, not just problems.

What we’re looking for:

  • Required 3+ years as a Product Owner, Product Manager or senior Business Analyst on backend, API-driven or platform products.
  • Demonstrable experience writing requirements for systems where correctness, auditability and edge-case handling matter — authentication, identity, payments, compliance, or similar.
  • Fluency with Agile delivery in practice: backlog management, Definition of Ready, refinement, estimation, sprint and release mechanics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, including structuring EPICs, versions, labels and dashboards.
  • Ability to read and reason about API documentation and system integration flows, and to hold a credible technical conversation with a Tech Lead without needing to code.
  • Clear, structured written English — a large part of this role is producing documentation that other teams depend on.
  • Comfort operating with multiple stakeholders and conflicting priorities, and the judgment to say no with a reason.
  • Strongly preferred iGaming experience, particularly in player account management (PAM), responsible gaming, KYC/AML or regulatory reporting.
  • Familiarity with regulated-market requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Exposure to authentication standards (OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, SSO) and consent management.
  • Experience supporting release processes and production incident handling.

Here's what we offer:

  • Start with 22 days of annual leave, with 2 additional days added each year, up to 32 days by your fifth year with us.
  • Benefit from two Free Fridays each year, limited to one per quarter.
  • 3 sick leave days per year, no doctor's note required.
  • Daily catered lunch or monthly lunch allowance.
  • Private Medical Subscription.
  • Access online learning platforms like Udemy for Business and LinkedIn Learning, and a budget for external training.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program through TELUS Health.

Our office perks include parking, on-site massages, and frequent team-building activities in various locations. And did we mention our amazing office space complete with its own pool and gym?
