Country Manager - Japan

BettingJobs is partnering with a global, crypto-focused sports betting and online casino brand to appoint a Japan Country Manager. This is a high-impact growth role, with full ownership of the Japanese market and a direct line to the Executive Team, at an ambitious operator set on becoming a major player in Japan.
This is a commercial, growth-and-acquisition role, not an administrative country-management post. You'll own the Japan strategy and P&L, build scalable acquisition channels, lead the VIP function and drive reacquisition, revenue and active player growth. It suits a commercially aggressive operator who understands the Japanese online gaming, crypto and digital acquisition landscape and can turn that knowledge into measurable results. The role is offered remotely or in-office, depending on location.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Japan market strategy, commercial roadmap and P&L, and set annual and quarterly growth targets
• Identify the positioning, customer segments and opportunities that will establish the brand in Japan
• Build and run a full-funnel acquisition strategy across affiliates, influencers/KOLs, communities, SEO/content, paid digital, partnerships and social
• Deliver strong growth in FTDs, active players, GGR/NGR and customer lifetime value
• Build relationships with Japan's leading affiliates, media partners, streamers and communities, and negotiate CPA, revenue-share and hybrid deals
• Continuously optimise CAC, conversion, retention and ROI, and spot unconventional opportunities ahead of competitors
• Lead the Japan VIP team, set clear VIP KPIs and drive acquisition and conversion of high-value players
• Own reacquisition and reactivation of dormant and churned customers
• Give the Executive Team market intelligence, performance analysis and recommendations

Requirements:

• Proven track record of driving acquisition and revenue growth in the Japanese online gaming market
• Native English and Japanese language skills
• Strong understanding of Japan's crypto and digital acquisition landscape
• Established network across Japanese affiliates, influencers, streamers and media partners
• Experience owning a P&L and commercial targets
• Hands-on knowledge of VIP management, retention and reactivation strategies
• A commercially driven, entrepreneurial approach, comfortable reporting directly to the executive level
