Automation QA Engineer

This is a chance to take real ownership of test automation strategy within a modern, high-traffic platform, working closely with development and product teams to embed quality throughout the delivery pipeline.
The role sits at the heart of the QA function, designing and maintaining automated test frameworks that reduce regression risk and increase release velocity.
You'll build and improve automation across functional, regression, API and performance testing, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and champion best practice across the wider team. It would suit a hands-on automation engineer who enjoys building scalable frameworks and mentoring others, and who wants exposure to a high-traffic, real-time platform using modern tooling.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, API and performance testing across web and mobile
• Build and improve automation frameworks using modern tools and best practices
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions primary)
• Develop and execute automated API tests (Postman, RestAssured or similar)
• Design and run load/performance tests using k6
• Log and track defects in Jira, working with developers to reproduce and verify fixes
• Champion automation best practice and mentor team members on tooling and methodology

Requirements:

• 3+ years' hands-on experience in test automation engineering
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills; Python, Java or C# a plus
• Hands-on experience with Playwright as primary framework; Selenium, Cypress or Appium a plus
• Strong understanding of REST/GraphQL API testing
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD, ideally GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with performance testing tools, ideally k6
• Solid grounding in testing methodologies, SDLC and Agile practices
• Experience with Jira, Zephyr or TestRail
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude) is highly desirable
• Exposure to gaming platforms, high-traffic or real-time systems, Docker, or BDD frameworks (Cucumber/SpecFlow) advantageous
