▮ Description

At Derivco, we build the technology behind world-class online gaming experiences. Our Total Reward team makes sure pay, and benefits are market-competitive, internally fair and easy for everyone to understand.
As our Specialist: Total Reward, you'll work autonomously, taking full ownership of benchmarking, job evaluation and the annual remuneration cycle across multiple countries. You'll drive innovation, bring sharp analytical thinking and help managers and employees engage with their reward confidently.

What you'll do

  • Benchmark against the market. Run compensation benchmarking using market-leading providers such as Mercer, WTW and Korn Ferry. Validate accuracy, methodology and alignment with our pay positioning and salary structures.
  • Own job evaluation end to end. Manage grading submissions and calibration against the Derivco job architecture. Provide structured feedback on patterns and flag architecture updates where needed.
  • Run the annual remuneration cycle. Deliver merit planning, bonus modelling, incentive calculations and data reconciliation, on time, within budget and fully policy-compliant.
  • Turn data into insight. Identify pay equity gaps, competitiveness issues and emerging trends. Produce clear, evidence-based reports that drive sound pay decisions, using AI-driven analytics where applicable.
  • Review fair pay and benefits. Assess whether benefits programmes meet employee needs and recommend improvements to programmes and policies.
  • Keep governance audit-ready. Maintain grading logs, remuneration sign-offs and regulatory submissions so the reward function stays transparent and compliant.
  • Get more from reward technology. Maximise our platforms and tools, reduce manual effort and use AI to automate, innovate and improve how reward is delivered.
  • Be the go-to reward expert. Partner with People Partners, Payroll, Finance and managers to drive reward education and confident self-service adoption.

What you'll bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Commerce or a related field, with a GRP being advantageous.
  • 4 to 6 years in total reward, compensation analysis or an HR specialist role, with hands-on experience across benchmarking, job evaluation and remuneration cycles.
  • Direct exposure to survey providers such as Mercer, WTW or Korn Ferry, and familiarity with multi-jurisdictional reward environments.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong HRIS proficiency (BambooHR), with the ability to analyse complex data and deliver clear, actionable reports.
  • Comfort with AI tools to support analytics, automate tasks and drive smarter ways of working.
  • A sharp eye for detail, strong stakeholder skills and high ethical standards when handling sensitive data.
  • A solid grasp of reward governance, regulatory compliance and audit-ready record keeping.

What success looks like
Outputs are accurate and defensible. Cycles run on time and within budget. Equity risks are caught early. Governance is always audit-ready. And every cycle, you leave the function smarter and more impactful than you found it.
This role may be filled by suitable applicants who would like to work in our Durban, Pretoria or Cape Town offices.
