BettingJobs is currently seeking a Sports Trader to join a growing sports betting company on a remote basis in Canada.
The Sports Trader will manage pricing, lines and risk across a portfolio of sports, covering pre-match, in-play and props.
The role would suit a sharp, analytical trader who wants ownership of a specialism while building breadth across the wider offering. Exposure to modelling and analytics is a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Adjusting odds and lines across North American sports in line with the trading strategy, maximising long-term performance.
  • Managing pre-match, in-play and props operations across a range of markets, performing shift duties across each area.
  • Analysing sources, wagers, customer profiles and market information to quickly identify where the offering needs correcting.
  • Monitoring live betting activity during dedicated tracker shifts, tracking incoming wagers to inform accurate real-time decisions.
  • Entering results, checking feed accuracy and maintaining event details, titles and notes.
  • Applying profiling techniques to customer behaviour and wagering activity, escalating or re-profiling players promptly in line with global profiling guidelines.
  • Compiling odds for props and detecting pricing errors in both the internal offering and the wider market.
  • Testing new releases and services affecting your primary area, and feeding back opinions to improve products, policies and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively across the trading team and the wider organisation to deliver the best outcome for clients and their customers.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar trading role, managing sports lines.
  • Proven knowledge of trading markets and industry trends.
  • Solid knowledge of North American sports, with broad knowledge of other sports an advantage.
  • Some experience or knowledge of modelling and analytics preferred.
  • Strong analytical mindset and excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to work unsupervised and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator with quick response times across internal channels.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including weekends and varying shifts.
