▮ Description

We are looking for an experienced Unreal Engine 5 Lighting / Look Development Artist to restyle an existing game map for Hyper Snatch, a fast-paced capture-the-flag game coming to Steam.
Our main map, already exists, but its current visual style does not match our concept art. We need an artist who can transform the existing environment to achieve the desired stylized, painterly look.
The concept art and key art will be provided as visual references. They were AI-generated and must be used strictly as style references. All work delivered for this project must be created by the artist without AI-generated assets.
Scope of Work
Adjust lighting, colors, atmosphere, fog, and post-processing to match the concept art.
Restyle the existing environment to achieve a softer, painterly look.
Improve the appearance of structures, vegetation, moss, and decorative elements to match the visual references.
Restyle the existing trees with lighter colors, softer painted shading, glowing specks on the bark, and hanging moss, while keeping the original tree models.
Apply changes consistently across the entire map, ensuring the environment looks cohesive from different gameplay angles.
Optimize the visual result for real-time gameplay in Unreal Engine 5.

Requirements

Proven experience with Unreal Engine 5 environment art, lighting, and look development.
Strong understanding of stylized and painterly art direction.
Experience with atmospheric lighting, volumetric fog, materials, shaders, and post-processing.
Ability to work with existing assets and materials rather than rebuilding the environment from scratch.
Ability to match a visual reference accurately while maintaining a consistent look across a playable level.
Experience creating custom materials and shaders to achieve stylized vegetation and environmental effects.
All assets and visual changes must be created manually, without AI-generated assets.
Deliverables
Updated Unreal Engine project files, with the map fully playable.
A gameplay screenshot from the same camera angle as the concept art, presented side by side with the reference.
A list of modified files, materials, assets, and settings.
A cohesive visual result across the entire map, not just the reference screenshot.
How Success Will Be Evaluated
The primary acceptance criterion is how closely a gameplay screenshot matches the provided concept art in terms of colors, lighting, atmosphere, mist, vegetation, moss, and overall visual style.
The final result must work in the actual playable map and remain consistent when exploring the environment from different viewpoints.
To Apply
Please share examples of your Unreal Engine 5 stylized environment, lighting, or look development work.
In your proposal, briefly explain how you would approach matching an existing playable environment to a stylized concept art reference, and provide an estimated timeline and budget for the project.
