BettingJobs is working with a leading affiliate and performance marketing group to appoint a Chief Technology Officer. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the executive team, the CTO owns the technology and data vision across a multi-brand portfolio and is the ultimate authority on architectural decisions. It is a rare opportunity to shape the technical direction of a business operating at real scale across multiple regulated markets.
The role suits a seasoned technology leader who is as comfortable setting strategy in the boardroom as coaching engineers through complex problems. You will define the roadmap across the entire technology landscape, act as a genuine business partner to the leadership team, and lead the organisation through its transition to a product-based, squad-led operating model.
Responsibilities:
- Set the overarching technology and data strategy, and translate it into a cohesive roadmap covering operating model, tech stack, infrastructure and architecture
- Approve investment plans and priorities across technology teams, and manage overall tech budgets
- Ensure the leadership team understands technological opportunities and their impact on business decisions
- Drive simplicity and agility through best-in-class practices such as continuous integration and automated deployment
- Own architectural decisions across applications and data, designing for future change
- Coach teams hands-on and act as technology champion across the business
- Evaluate build vs buy and standardise developer tools, services and cloud infrastructure
- Lead, develop and grow the technology teams, including performance management, recruitment and ongoing development
Requirements:
- Deep domain expertise in technology and data, with experience leading a mid-sized global tech organisation
- Strong insight into the latest technologies and trends in affiliate and/or digital marketing
- Strategic and commercial acumen to challenge, translate and drive decisions at executive level
- Ability to guide architectural decisions across front-end, back-end and data platforms
- Solid understanding of product and project management and how they interconnect with technology
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and cloud-native solutions
- Experience in agile development; solution architect background preferred
- Curious, future-oriented and energised by trying new solutions
