▮ Description

Our client, a well-established CSP based in Malta, is looking for a Client Accountant to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of your own client portfolio, mentor junior team members, and develop your expertise within a dynamic environment.
This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €45K, depending on experience.
Please note that only candidates already based in Malta can be considered.
Role & Responsibilities

  • Complete management accounts for your portfolio of clients and manage annual audit processes
  • Prepare and submit client VAT returns
  • Ensure all tasks within your portfolio and junior team members' portfolios are completed on time and in line with statutory requirements
  • Liaise closely with management on client accounting requirements and service quality
  • Review financial statements and VAT returns prepared by other team members
  • Support ongoing monitoring for compliance purposes
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, acting as a point of reference
  • Organise regular catch-up meetings with your team
  • Promote internal procedures and best practices within the team
  • Identify training needs and assist management in preparing and delivering training sessions
  • Assist management with writing articles for the company website
  • Liaise with internal departments to obtain information for financial statements and statutory returns
  • Identify and report significant accounting issues to management
  • Attend client meetings for own portfolio and support junior members during meetings

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified by a recognised accountancy qualification
  • 2+ years of experience in a client accounting environment - non-negotiable
  • Strong knowledge of client accounting and VAT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and SAGE
  • Fluency in English at a C2/Native level, both written and spoken
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and highly organised
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work on multiple assignments
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Responsible and ethical when handling sensitive financial information

About the Role

  • Salary of up to €45K depending on experience and seniority
