Business Development Manager

BettingJobs is working with a fast-growing international payments-led organisation to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager with deep expertise in card acquiring and credit card payment solutions. This is a commercially critical hire, focused on building and expanding a global acquiring network across Europe, the Middle East, North America and other key markets.
The role sits at the heart of the payments function, owning relationships with acquiring banks, PSPs, gateways and processors, and negotiating the commercial terms that directly shape performance. It would suit a well-connected payments professional who thrives on deal-making, understands the mechanics of Visa/Mastercard processing inside out, and wants genuine ownership of a growing acquiring portfolio within an ambitious, fast-moving business.

Responsibilities:

• Develop partnerships with acquiring banks, PSPs, payment gateways and processors globally
• Source and negotiate competitive Visa/Mastercard acquiring solutions
• Negotiate key commercial terms including MDR, settlement cycles, rolling reserves, chargebacks and processing fees
• Evaluate partners based on approval rates, supported MCCs, geographic coverage, settlement and overall commercial competitiveness
• Work closely with Product, Compliance, Operations and Technology teams to onboard and launch new acquiring partners
• Continuously identify better card acquiring solutions across Europe, the Middle East, North America and other key markets

Requirements:

• 3+ years' BD/Partnerships experience in payments, acquiring or FinTech
• Strong knowledge of credit card acquiring and Visa/Mastercard payment processing is essential
• Experience working with acquiring banks, PSPs, gateways or processors
• Good understanding of MCC/MID, MDR, settlement, reserves, chargebacks, approval rates and payment routing
• An existing international acquiring network is highly preferred
• Experience with high-risk or complex merchant acquiring is a strong plus
• Strong negotiation skills and professional English
