BettingJobs is working with a fast-growing sports betting technology business to recruit a Senior Software Engineer for its Trading Technology team. You'll build the backend engines behind real-time trading, risk management and core platform services — systems where low latency, high throughput and reliability are critical — as well as the React front-ends that surface them.
This is a role with genuine ownership: open-ended technical challenges, a real say in architectural decisions, and the scope to shape team practices rather than work through predefined tickets. It will suit an experienced .NET engineer who enjoys distributed systems at scale and is equally comfortable delivering polished, real-time user interfaces.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain efficient, reliable backend systems in Microsoft .NET
• Build responsive React and TypeScript front-ends surfacing live trading and risk data
• Integrate with message brokers (RabbitMQ), caching (Redis) and relational databases
• Deploy and operate services using modern CI/CD, containerisation and cloud-native practices
• Diagnose and resolve production issues using alerts, dashboards and log analysis
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior developers
• Contribute to code and design reviews, and write and maintain automated tests
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years' professional software development experience in Microsoft .NET
• 2+ years' front-end experience with a modern framework (React preferred; Angular or Vue also valued) and strong TypeScript proficiency
• Experience designing highly scalable, high-performance distributed systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the drive to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
• Message-oriented middleware (RabbitMQ, Kafka), Redis, Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also valued)
• REST APIs, gRPC, WebSockets or SSE; observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry
• Write-heavy real-time UIs — optimistic updates, concurrency and conflict resolution
