▮ Описание

Our partner is an early-stage energy-tech company building a platform to monitor and control solar power plants and battery storage, which is critical energy infrastructure. The product is already live with its first clients, and the focus now is stability and scale. The team is growing from 3 to 10+ people, so every new engineer directly shapes how the platform is built and run. The team uses AI-assisted tooling in daily work, with strict human review of everything that touches live plants.

About the role

You will commission, integrate and keep running PLC-based controllers for PV + battery plants (WAGO PFC200 / CODESYS and Phoenix Contact). You connect inverters, loggers, PCS/BMS and meters to an EMS over OPC UA and to the grid operator over IEC 60870-5-104. You deliver site integrations from register map to commissioning, and you own the diagnosis when a plant misbehaves.
Main Responsibilities

  • Integrate field devices over Modbus TCP/RTU: read vendor register maps, find map errors, fill I/O mappings, and verify scaling and sign against the device manual
  • Write and maintain IEC 61131-3 Structured Text under review, using existing reference modules and test plans
  • Commission and test plants (FAT/SAT): execute test plans, log and close issues
  • Test and diagnose the IEC 104 link and the OPC UA model (point lists, general interrogation, timestamps, drift checks)
  • Troubleshoot in the field: serial counters, network captures, 4G/VPN, router logs
  • Keep documentation current: variable maps, test results, as-builts, requirement traceability
  • Work with AI-assisted tooling: write clear briefs, review generated changes critically, and rerun the tests yourself

Mandatory Requirements
Must have

  • 4+ years in industrial automation or energy controls (3 years considered with strong project evidence)
  • IEC 61131-3, ideally Structured Text, on CODESYS-based (WAGO) or Phoenix Contact controllers, or a comparable runtime
  • Hands-on Modbus TCP/RTU, plus at least one of IEC 104 / DNP3 / IEC 61850 and OPC UA basics
  • Site commissioning and fault finding on live equipment; industrial networking basics (IP, VLAN, RS-485, VPN)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and meter data (CT/VT, power, sign conventions)
  • Python or shell scripting for tooling; version control
  • Technical English and clear written documentation
  • Willingness to travel to sites

Nice to have

  • PV and/or BESS plant experience; EMS/PPC or PCS/BMS integration
  • Knowledge of grid-code and DSO/TSO requirements (RfG, EN 50549, ANRE / Moldelectrica norms); ANRE authorization
  • IEC 62443 awareness; Linux; bench simulators
  • CODESYS or IEC 62443 training certificates

How we work

  • Changes start from a short written brief with one objective and a checkable success condition
  • Whoever builds a change does not verify it: a second person or tool reviews it and reruns the tests
  • “Done” and “tests pass” are not accepted without a rerun; anything not run is reported as skipped, never as passed
  • Where a specification is ambiguous, we ask the owner before choosing a default

Your first 90 days

  • Compare a revised vendor register map against our reference version, list every difference, and verify it against the manual
  • Run our read-only IEC 104 test master against a plant and reconcile the operator’s point list with the plant configuration
  • Run the fleet consistency check, explain any difference it reports, and add one read-only OPC UA node
  • Round-trip a CODESYS project export and import on a copy of the project with zero errors
  • Execute part of a plant test plan on the bench or on site, and log results and issues

What this role does not include
This is a hands-on delivery role. You will not design plant control laws or the EMS interface contract, change how power setpoints are written to converters, define point lists with the grid operator, design protection relays or high-voltage substations, or lead a team or own budgets. You will work closely with the engineers who own these areas, and you are expected to flag problems you see in them.

We offer

  • A role on real PV + BESS plants, with work that is visible and matters from week one
  • A small team where you influence how things are built, not just execute tickets
  • A disciplined engineering culture: written briefs, independent review, real test reruns
  • A modern workflow with AI-assisted tooling, used critically and not blindly
  • A remote setup with site visits, and room to grow toward senior scope as the team scales
  • Compensation based on market level and your experience, discussed individually
